Sonny Bill Williams and Bulldogs Gagged over Willie
November 10, 2007
With the Bulldogs looking for unity over the Willie Mason saga; leading Bulldogs players trying to support Willie Mason have been gagged by Bulldogs officials.
The complete Bulldogs squad has now been refused permission to talk to the media as the Belmore based NRL club tries to clean up their savaging headlines over the past few weeks. In addition to the Willie Mason flare up; the Bulldogs have also released Brent Sherwin a year early from his contract so the halfback can take up a position in the UK Super League with Castleford.
The situation currently happening at the Bulldogs is certainly rare for the place they call “The Family Club” – the traditional way for Rugby League club the Bulldogs has been to keep it all in the family, with former boss Peter “Bullfrog” Moore keeping things well and truly in house.
Times have certainly changed at Belmore; the Bulldogs have been rocked by rape allegations, outrageous fan behavior and rioting at the once proud club. To cap things off, their on field performances have been poor since winning the NRL Rugby League title in 2004.
