Sonny Bill Williams Judiciary Wait

August 31, 2007

Sonny Bill Williams has a nervous wait until the end of Round 25 of the NRL – after he collected Jonathan Thurston high and late after the Cowboys half back got a kick away.

The timing of the tackle in the Bulldogs v Cowboys game couldn’t have been worse, with the semi-finals next week – SBW risks missing at least 1 game due to the heavy hit he dished out.

The slo-mo replays didn’t look good, and Sonny is sure to miss at least 1 finals game.

The Bulldogs also lost their NRL match to the Cowboys after a poor showing from the Canterbury club. They simply didn’t arrive to play Rugby League and gifted plenty of possession to the Cowboys – the North Queensland side running up plenty of points and holding off a late come back from the Bulldogs as they rested their players.

Rugby League is set to heat up next week as the NRL finals slip into first gear! The Top 8 is now decided, only the positions of the 8 teams will be confirmed after Round 25 completes on Sunday night!

Jonathan Thurston Awaits

August 27, 2007

Former Bulldogs team mate of Sonny Bill Williams – Jonathan Thurston awaits SBW and the Dogs this weekend in the final Round 25 of 2007 NRL.

The North Queensland Cowboys and Jonathan Thurston are assured of a Top 4 spot in the NRL finals, however Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs can sneak into the Top 4 if they beat the Cowboys well and hope for other results to go their way.

2007 continues to be an up and down year for the Bulldogs, however the Cowboys have been in a similar boat.

Sonny Bill and the Dogs will be fired up to take this game and ensure their former teammate Jonathan Thurston has a quiet game.

This one shaping as a real juicy clash for Round 25.

SBW and Dogs Top 4 Hopes Dashed

August 24, 2007

Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs were sent packing tonight after the top ranked Melbourne Storm giving them a Rugby League lesson at Telstra Stadium in the Round 24 clash.

After a tussle early and one of Sonny Bill’s trademark shoulder chargers putting Dallas Johnson on his rear – the Canterbury side faded badly.

The class of the NRL leading Storm showing through and running up a big score on the Canterbury side.

The heavy loss sends the Bulldogs below Parramatta on the table now and crushes their hopes of a top 4 finish. They face the Cowboys next week in a fight to the death.

Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs will welcome back icon Willie Mason for next weeks big clash.

Sonny Bill, Key to Bulldogs Final Hopes

August 22, 2007

Rugby League website NRL News today singled out Sonny Bill Williams as they single key to the Bulldogs NRL finals success. Each of the competing 10 NRL teams with possible finals aspirations had a single player named as the individual that could turn a game on his own and help his NRL team get the edge.

An obvious choice for the Canterbury Bulldogs, Sonny Bill Williams continues to take a strong leadership role with Willie Mason and other major forces out injured for the Bulldogs.

The key for Canterbury will be whether Sonny Bill Williams can continue his ‘lead from the front’ style form, when Willie Mason returns. Willie will certainly be rusty when he comes back to first grade, and SBW will need to serious share the load.

The Bulldogs have snuck into the Top 4 in the last 2 weeks and are poised for a decent assault on the NRL Rugby League finals series in 2007. With this year being such a good one for SBW on the field, his lack of injuries has helped him prove himself as a real staying star.

Stay with us in the coming weeks as we follow the Bulldogs and Sonny Bill Williams through the 2007 NRL Rugby League finals.

Sonny and Dogs just nip Brisbane

August 19, 2007

After the Bulldogs just got home over the busted Broncos in Round 23 of the 2007 NRL – its a good thing the only Sonny Bill photos we are seeing are of his big hits and skillful touches on the NRL Rugby League Field.

SBW is continuing to train hard and stay out of the spotlight as the Bulldogs move towards the Rugby League finals.

The Bulldogs are now in the Top 4 and set for a home ground semi final if they can beat the Storm next week and finish with a win against the Cowboys in the final round.

“Keep on pushing Sonny Bill Williams – you are set for a huge finals appearance!”

SBW keeping things low down

August 14, 2007

“Sonny Bill Williams Pictures” – no more headlines such as this says SBW this week, as he and the Bulldogs reach top form in their thrashing of the Canberra Raiders.

The Bulldogs are helping Sonny stay well out of the spotlight; as the Bulldogs move towards the finals and act to minimize any possible disruptions for SBW or the Bulldogs NRL team.

With figures such as Danny Weidler hovering constantly around Sonny Bill Williams and waiting for the next big story; things will be hard for SBW to keep things on the down low.

His NRL form is simply blistering, and the last thing he wants to see is “Sonny Bill Williams Pictures” pasted all over newspapers and internet websites.

After parting ways with Canterbury BMW recently, Sonny is trying to mend bridges with sponsors and improve his profile off the field.

It will be a whirlwind few weeks ahead for SBW and the Bulldogs as they approach the NRL finals – but a long quiet off-season will be high in Sonny’s mind. A possible trip back to New Zealand and some time with long term girlfriend Gemma Shaw will be a positive reward for the superstar.

SBW crushes the Canbera Raiders

August 12, 2007

The ‘Sonny Bill Williams Big Hits’ came thick and fast today – with Sonny Bill beating the Canberra Raiders virtually on his own.

Powerful tries to Sonny Bill, and some nice offloads to try assist for his team mates – saw SBW again rise in confidence to boost the Bulldogs into the middle of the NRL top 8 for season 2007 with only 3 weeks of NRL to go.

Sonny Bill Williams had crushing defence also – some superb shoulder charges from the big man saw Canberra Raiders – Michael Dobson get buried into the turf.

The video below is an overview of the Bulldogs Raiders game; featuring Sonny Bill Williams – his tries and his rock hard defence.

Sonny Bill Williams BMW Canterbury Deal Off

August 4, 2007

Bulldog Sonny Bill Williams has now lost his sponsorship deal with Canterbury BMW. Sonny Bill Williams was asked to return his $100,000 BMW 3 Series car – on loan from Canterbury BMW to the NRL star after several off-field incidents have tainted his personality.

Sonny Bill Williams is now driving around town in a $9,000 Diahatsu Charade – a car worth only half the champions weekly pay packet!

Nat Zenardo from Canterbury BMW confirmed Sonny Bill Williams was no longer allowed to ‘loan’ the late model BMW 3-series twin turbo car.

The BMW was Sonny Bill Williams’ pride and joy – and his failed sponsorship with Canterbury BMW has seen him attempt to strengthen his deal with NIKE and other sponsors. Sonny Bill Williams and his manager Gavin Orr entertained several guests at a Telstra Stadium Function recently and he is set to sign a deal with a large building company.

Herald reporter Danny Weidler continues to pamper Sonny Bill Williams and continues to try and befriend the superstar – yet at the same time is breaking the big news stories that hurt the SBW career. Amazing under cover work from Weidler – SBW needs to realise who Danny Weidler really is and how much he is hurting his career.

Bulldog Brad Morrin bites Tahu

August 3, 2007

Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs could not stop the Parramatta Eels from taking a quality victory home at Telstra Stadium tonight.

A night full of controversy, with Danny Weidler breaking another story on Sonny Bill Williams earlier tonight; with Sonny Bill Williams booked for speeding (60 in a 40 zone) – it only got more controversial with Bulldog Brad Morrin biting Timana Tahu minutes before half time.

Morrin taking a visible chomp at Tahu’s arm and Timana reacting swiftly with a slap to the head of Brad Morrin.

Sonny Bill was close to the best for the Bulldogs in the Round 21 clash – single handedly taking it to the Eels with a nice solo try in the first half. SBW nearly snatched a golden point session for the Bulldogs as he stripped Grothe in the 75th minute and looked to score a try.

Vid Ref Bill Harrigan ruling a knock on correctly from the strip – and the Eels went on to secure the win with another try through Kris Inu late in the play.

Sonny Bill Williams Caught Speeding by Police

August 3, 2007

Unfortunately for Sonny Bill Williams – he was today caught speeding by Police - and faces possible loss of licence. Sonny Bill Williams caught speeding – travelling at approx 60 kph in a 40 kph zone.

In NSW, this attracts a penalty of around 4 demerit points. Sonny Bill Williams has already loss several points from his licence – due to his drink driving conviction previously.

This latest incident sadly continues Sonny Bill Williams’ off-field struggle in 2007. This latest speeding / police incident comes after urinating in public in Cronulla and caught by Police and more recently a run-in with a photographer.

Sonny Bill Williams will need to put the speeding fine, police problems and possible loss of car licence behind him tonight as he faces the Parramatta Eels at Telstra Stadium in a massive NRL clash.

Lets hope Sonny Bill Williams can have a huge game for the Bulldogs and the problems with speeding and the NSW Police can be left behind him for now anyway – the RTA are sure to come knocking and asking for that licence back!
