Sonny Bill to Return this Week
July 17, 2007
Sonny Bill Williams is tipped to return to the Bulldogs side to face the Titans this week in an away game for the struggling Bulldogs.
Sonny and the Dogs have been hit hard by injury and will be keen to get two valuable NRL points when they take on the also injury ravaged Titans side.
The Bulldogs lost to the struggling Panthers last week after SBW, Shrek and Tonga all pulled out with injuries.
This week Steve Folkes has named a park footballer Fred Briggs to make his debut after so many Bulldogs stars are falling down with injury. It may as well be another Fred Bloggs coming into the side, as Willie Mason now goes missing with a fractured wrist – big Willie expected to be missing for 4 weeks now.
Sonny Bill Benched in Dogs win Over Sharks
July 8, 2007
Sonny Bill Williams was in action today for the Bulldogs in their big NRL clash with the Cronulla Sharks at Shark Park.
In what was a physical contest as expected, the Dogs took plenty of time to get going – especially Sonny Bill Williams who was heavily marked by the Cronulla defence and was rushed by multiple defenders everytime he got the ball.
The Sharks were winning for 60 minutes of the match but the late finishing Dogs went on a 10 minute scoring spree with 3 unanswered tries.
Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes benched Sonny Bill Williams around the 60th minute mark, and the injection of new forwards for the Dogs was the impetus for the Dogs getting home.
To SBW’s credit he toiled hard on the fringe and one of his offloads led to a late Dogs try. Sonny Bill continues to have a season free from injury and with the Bulldogs getting home today – they are looking good for the 2007 NRL Finals.
Sonny Bill Williams heading back to Cronulla
July 4, 2007
SBW this week heads back into the Cronulla Shire, the location of his recent indiscretion (where SBW pee’d in public and was charged by Police)
This time Sonny Bill Williams lines up with the Bulldogs against the Sharks.
After close to his best ever NRL match last weekend, Sonny Bill Williams will be out to keep the Bulldogs run to the finals continuing and against the desperate Sharks it should be a brutal NRL match.
Willie Mason, Andrew Ryan and Hazem El Masri have all come through State of Origin uninjured and will simply be a little tired from the game. The same can be said for the Sharks trio of Paul Gallen, Greg Bird and Brett Kimmorley. (Kimmorley will have to pass a fitness test on his knee, but he should play)
On current form, the tip would probably have to go to Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs even though the game is at Cronulla’s Shark Park homeground.
SBW against Roosters 2007
July 2, 2007
A blinder for Sonny Bill Williams tonight against he Sydney Roosters, has seen the man reach peak form in 2007.
Every touch of the football for Sonny Bill tonight was sublime. From early hole running, to pure strength and his trademark impossible offloads SBW was at it all.
Midway through the first half tonight against the Roosters, Sonny Bill was requiring three Rooster defenders to stop him and he still regularly had his arm free and was gifting good ball to runners such as Reni Matuia and Darryl Millard.
Sonny Bill bagged two tries, one off a Brent Sherwin grubber and could have had a third, had video referee Chris Ward not red lighted his attempt.
To polish off a man of the match effort, in his TV / Fox interview – Sonny Bill Williams spoke to fans and said of his efforts to pick up his game ‘off’ the field and said hello to his family back in New Zealand.
A true champion is Sonny Bill Williams and we compliment his comments after the game.
Keep up the stunning NRL play in 07 SBW – we wish you the best.
Monday Night NRL for Sonny Bill Williams
July 1, 2007
Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs feature in Monday Night NRL tonight against the struggling Sydney City Roosters. With Sonny Bill’s team mates on Origin Duty – Willie Mason, Andrew Ryan and Hazem El Masri – it means Sonny Bill Williams will need to step up and play a senior role for the Bulldogs side tonight. With the St George Illawarra Dragons winning against Manly in a huge upset, this will give the Roosters plenty of confidence and they may feel they can get the Bulldogs unsuspectingly. Sonny Bill Williams has begun to find form while playing the lock position for the Bulldogs and he will be primed for a big game tonight.
